Announcing Azure Maps

Azure Location Based Services has changed its name into Azure Maps, as reported by the service’s Principal PM Manager, Chris Pendleton.

“As of today, Azure Maps will provide Microsoft enterprise customers with robust mapping capabilities to integrate into their various applications. Through easy to use services and a JavaScript map control, Microsoft enterprise customers have the opportunity to build robust applications with a wealth of underlying geographic and geospatial functionality built-in.”

The services provided by Azure Maps go from search, route, render and time zone services, to traffic, map control services.
