GEWI speaks on Social Media and Traffic Management at GRITS

GEWI wrapped up the 2016 conference season by exhibiting and speaking at the Gulf Region ITS (GRITS) annual meeting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana 14-16 November 2016.

GEWI North America CEO Jim O’Neill spoke in a social media session on 15 November, 2016. “Social media and crowdsourced data are increasingly important in traffic management” commented O’Neill. “We will discuss the strengths of the various social media data types and the challenges of integrating this data into a traffic operations center” he continued.

Founded in 2009, the Gulf Region Intelligent Transportation Society is a non-profit organization consisting of industry leaders and ITS advocates from Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama, committed to partnerships, education, and advancement of transportation throughout the region.
