March 2017 TISA Committee Meetings in Taipei

March 23, 2017

Group pictureAfter signing the MoU with TTIA in August 2016, the TISA Committees decided to
hold their March 2017 Meetings in Taiwan for underlining the importance of Asia-Pacific for TISA as well as strengthening the collaboration with TTIA and the TISA members in that region. The meetings of the Technical & Standardization Committe, the Content & Services Committee and the Products Committee were complemented by a Business Analysis WG meeting. A special session for Public Authority matters discussed successful public-private partnership collaborations, such as the joint work between the EU EIP and TISA on the Quality of Traffic Information, experiences from implementation of QBench in Australia, the collaboration between LTA Singapore and Quantum Inventions, or the lessons learned from the workshop organised by BASt on harmonization of road works warning in the European C-ITS corridor project.

Our partner organisation TTIA had further arranged a Seminar on Smart Traffic Information Services as well as two site visits to the electronic toll collection company FETC and the traffic control center for the M5 highway/tunnel corridor to Yilan. These ancillary events were much appreciated, as they provided interesting insights into the well-developed ITS industry in Taiwan as well as stimulated many fruitful discussions among the participants.
