Germany publishes the ITS Action Plan for the Roads

The German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development published the ITS Action Plan for the Roads. The Action Plan looks at creating a framework for the evolution of existing intelligent transport systems (ITS) as well as at an accelerated introduction of new ITS in Germany over the period to 2020.

TISA is mentioned in the plan (page 20) as one of the relevant international activities the Federal Ministry is looking at.

TISA welcomes new Member

In July 2013, the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien (UASTW) became the 102nd member of TISA. UASTW is the leading technical university in its sector in the great Vienna area and has bachelor and master programmes dedicated to transport and ITS (intelligent Transport Systems). The university also cooperates with the association Verein Digitalradio Österreich on activities related to TPEGTM.

TISA at the ITS World Congress in Tokyo

This year, TISA will be present at the ITS World Congress that takes place in Tokyo from 14 to 18 October. TISA will also host a special session (SIS24) titled “TPEGTM services on a global scale“. The session will introduce TPEGTM services that are currently operated worldwide, as well as ongoing development work. This session will provide an excellent overview of TPEGTM applications already standardised as well as detailed information of how to engage in work currently under development within TISA.
