Season’s greetings by TISA president Thomas Kusche-Knežević

December 15, 2016

Dear Members and Friends of TISA!

Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success, Henry Ford said.

How could Henry Ford know what should happen in 2007?

When TISA was founded in Berlin, Germany, a huge crowd of navigation interested people and companies came together to foster the market for TMC and to bring TPEG to fruition. We kept ourselves together and worked together – in between for nearly 10 years.

Today, TISA is entitled to say that this has been a very successful period of time.

TMC has become the most accepted standard for navigation systems and TPEG gets more and more successful as successor system.

Within the last year, we made outstanding progress in improving the structural preconditions TISA. Our activities in Asia-Pacific will accelerate the process of cooperation between TISA members world-wide. The liaison with the Open AutoDrive Forum widens the perspective for an integration of TPEG in future cars. And our decision to intensify the work on Public Transport and eMobility will inspire new business ideas.

In 2017, we will celebrate the first anniversary of TISA. 10 years – that’s not a very long period of time, some would say. But in context with speedy technical developments, it is near to eternity. During this decade, TISA has proven to be a reliable home-place for creative people and companies to bring travel information forward!

TISA was able to contribute because of the valuable work of its members. It is accepted and respected as one of the most experienced organisations in ITS. This could only be achieved because of the membership’s support and engagement. I am very confident that we will be able to successfully serve travellers world-wide in the future, too. Let us welcome 2017 as the first year of another promising area for TISA.

Wishing you a Happy New Year with hope that you will have many blessings in the year to come.

Thomas Kusche-Knežević
