October 13, 2016

Together with Intelematics of Australia, TISA co-organized an associated event on the Quality of Traffic information. Dan Kelly of Intelematics outlined the role of the TISA QBench methodology for the Intelematics traffic services. Joanna Robinson of the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads discussed and Wayne Harvey of Vicroads shared the concerns of road operators. Johanna Tzanidaki provided some insights on a multinational-operating company like TomTom manages quality in their commercial services. A view on what is an adequate quality for traffic information was shared by Risto Kulmala from the Finish Transport Agency. Martin Böhm of AustriaTech underlined the importance of harmonization of quality assessment methods and criteria across countries. Overall the session provided much information and stimulated numerous follow-up discussions.

On that occasion, TISA handed over a position paper on the Quality of Traffic Information to Claire Depré, Head of Unit ITS at the DG MOVE of the European Commission.
