TISA Member INRIX to launch new Traffic and Park Services for Lexus

INRIX and Lexus announced the launch of a real-time parking and traffic navigation service in the all-new Lexus IS. The Lexus IS is the first vehicle to feature such a service as standard on its premium navigation multimedia system. Drivers of the new Lexus IS will enjoy real-time traffic powered navigation in most European countries. They will be guided to their destination through the fastest available route avoiding accidents, incidents, road closures and other traffic causing delays.

Certification of Location Tables for Czech Republic v5.0

On 23 February 2013, Location Tables of Czech Republic version 5.0 (CZE v5.0) were certified by the Brussels-based organization TISA (Traveller Information Services Association), and have consequently been released.

The new CZE v5.0 Tables are an updated version of the Location Tables v4.1, for which a general revision, accuracy improvement, and expansion of localized sections have been made. Version 5.0 includes nearly 19,000 locations.

European Commission speeds up roll-out of information services for motorists

On 15 May, the European Commission adopted two regulations to promote the roll-out of ‘intelligent information services’, such as real-time warnings about dangerous road conditions ahead and information on safe and secure parking places for truck drivers. They can be provided through different means such as variable road signs, the radio and mobile phone applications.

TISA Special Session at the ITS European Congress

On the occasion of the 9th ITS European Congress, TISA is organising a Special Interest Session in Dublin titled “New traffic and traveller information services – state of development and standardisation”. The session (SIS 03) will look at some work in progress by TISA and its members as well as highlighting the  current state of its activities in the field of standardisation.
