2nd TISA Organised Session in Dubai
Wednesday 18th September 2024
#ITSDubai2024 delivered yet another well attended session - SIS 63: Better Traffic Information, Improved Safety - moderated by Matthias Unbehaun and organised by TISA - Traveller Information Services Association.
Highlights from the session included:
- Mohanad Ismail from WSP and DFRS - Data For Road Safety for Road Safety ecosystem presented the work of #DFRS including a live demonstration of the data sources gathered across Europe.
- Stephanie Leonard gave insights into how TomTom hazard warning services support drivers in making safe decisions, Marion AUZOLLE explained how HERE Technologies Road Alerts warn drivers of slippery roads, accident and other safety related situations, and Christoph Stoegerer from SWARCO elaborated on the important role of the infrastructure providers in the Safety Related
- Traffic Information (#SRTI) value chain.
The following debate addressed the impact of the SRTI services in terms of reduced number of accidents and casualties.
Furthermore the importance of bringing public and private stakeholders together when it comes to data sharing for SRTI was unanimously called for by all of the participants.
