TISA SERVICES
Besides the development and publication of international standards, TISA also offers the following services to its members and all other ITS stakeholders:
- Validation and certification of the TMC location tables worldwide – both for public and commercial tables.
- Registration of TMC and TPEG global trademarks and authorisation of trademark use upon request.
- Maintenance of the TPEG Service Identifier registry and issuing of new Service IDs upon request.
- Maintenance of the registry for encrypted TPEG services.
Quality Improvement, Assessment TMC Location Table Certification and Accreditation
TISA can offer services to help organisations improve their quality of their traffic and travel data for the benefit of travellers. Services may include quality assessment services and accreditations where necessary. These services are available to all organisations, with TISA members receiving preferential conditions, costs and support with analysis tools.
TMC Location Table Certification
TMC location table certification awards a quality seal. Traffic Message Channel (TMC) services are typically carried over very narrowband channels on a subcarrier modulated onto the FM radio signal. Bandwidth efficiency is of utmost importance for the TMC transmission protocol, which therefore uses pre-encoded location tables that includes a set of predefined locations.
TISA provides the only global certification service and approximately 180 TMC Location Tables are certified worldwide on a yearly basis. A cross-industry team with high expertise analyses TMC location tables and certifies their implementation quality, giving users confidence that they can be safely integrated into map databases.
