Things you wanted to know about Location Referencing (LR) but were afraid to ask

This wealth of information has been incrementally made available as a part of the work from TISA's Location Referencing Work Group, bringing together experts TomTom, Danish Road Directorate, ERTICO-ITS Europe, Vlaamse Overheid.
Location-based services depend on accurate location referencing
- Location Referencing method gives the means to answer questions such as:
- Where am I?
- Where is the nearest restaurant?
- Where is the accident?
- Location Referencing does not address “What” has happened but “Where” it happened
- Location referencing methods provide a “language” to describe locations: The “How” of “Where”
Location referencing methods need to bridge differences between various digital maps, including differences in geometry, topology, and further map attributes.
