TISA leading the global dialogue on RTTI for large-scale emergencies at ITS World Congress 2026

We’re pleased to announce TISA’s latest global engagement at the ITS World Congress in South Korea: a session on Managing road traffic in large-scale emergency situations using Real-Time Traffic Information (RTTI) Services - SIS003.

Natural disasters and civil crises can create major challenges for road operators—managing traffic, warning drivers of danger, and guiding people towards safe evacuation routes.

TPEG2 Emergency Alerts and Warnings (EAW) provides language-independent alerts compatible with common navigation systems. Based on the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP), it supports interoperability with around 200 public alert feeds worldwide.

Standards alone are not enough. Large-scale deployment of RTTI-based public warning services remains limited.

Trust is key. Drivers need confidence that the information they receive is accurate, complete, timely and available where it matters. That’s why our session will introduce a 5-Star Rating Framework for RTTI, assessing these essential dimensions of information quality.

Join us and our speakers: Matthias Unbehaun (TISA), Kai Roddeck (Mecom Medien-Communications-Gesellschaft mbH), Grace Alex (TomTom), Sarah-Jayne Williams (Google Maps), Bob McQueen (Bob McQueen and Associates) and Dwight Jordan (TriStar Innovations, LLC) as we explore how standards, interoperability and information quality can strengthen road traffic management and public safety in large-scale emergencies.
