TISA Committee Meetings – Leipzig December 2024
The final round of TISA Committee meetings for 2024 year took place on 3 & 4 December in beautiful Leipzig, kindly hosted by our long-standing member GEWI AG.
During the first day, the TISA Executive Office highlighted ample achievements from 2024 and the current state of work. A totally new set of communications and branding materials were developed, setting the ground for a wider communication efforts going forward. What more was covered? Latest insights and vibrant discussions related to road safety, fleet management, satellite monitoring of road conditions and much more. Of course, we also provided our Committee members with an opportunity for additional business networking.
The first day welcomed Webfleet, Bridgestone’s globally trusted fleet management solution. Webfleet is a market leader in Europe and one of the world’s leading players in vehicle telematics and fleet management. Dr Michael Suess (CTO) highlighted the importance of professional planning and monitoring of commercial fleets in order to reach profitability and also increase transport eficiency and road safety.
Additional insights were provided by Thomas Mark de Laine from Danish Road Directorate on the Data For Road Safety (DFRS) trials in Denmark. Risto Kulmala (Traficon) also presented the progress of the Digital Road Operator Information and Data Strategy (Droids) project. This first day was packed with highly valuable insights and discussions.
TISA welcomed its members for the second day of the Committee meetings (Wednesday 4/12) with several highlights and one launch!
Among multiple, insights following topics can be highlighted:
- Darren Capes from Department for Transport (UK) presented the work of the Transport Technology Forum and engagement with its counterparts in Europe.
- Christopher Stögerer presented SWARCO's perspective on safety related traffic Information (SRTI) for all road users. Christoper highlighted the topic from four perspectives: 1. Role of SWARCO, 2. Impact on SWARCO, 3. Use case examples and 4. MyCity Connect
- Andras Csepinszky from MoTeRe spoke about the ESERCOM-D project which focuses on EGNSS enabled standardised European road condition monitoring and distribution.
Antoine van der Laan chaired a Real-Time Traffic Information (RTTI) session where the latest status of the 5-Star rating standard was presented and in addition, work on a 5-Star rating evaluation methodology was launched.
