RTTI 5-Star Rating: From Specification to Practical Application
What does an Update Cycle really mean? How can organisations demonstrate DATEX II conformance without a dedicated validation tool? And when do Roadworks become a Road Closure?
These are just some of the practical questions emerging as stakeholders explore the TISA RTTI 5-Star Rating Specification.
To support a common understanding across the RTTI ecosystem, TISA has expanded its publicly available FAQ from 21 to 27 questions and answers.
The six new entries provide guidance on vehicle classifications, pre-announcement of speed-limit changes, update cycles, DATEX II reference profiles, OSM versus INSPIRE road classifications, and the distinction between Roadworks, Road Closures and Lane Closures.
The objective is straightforward: turning common quality requirements into a shared understanding that supports consistent, practical assessments.
Developed through collaboration between public authorities and the ITS industry, the RTTI 5-Star Rating Framework aims to improve the quality, interoperability and usability of traffic information across the entire value chain.
