As Jacques Naves, Michelin Travel Partner, will step down as Committee Chair at the end of 2015, he has prepared a moving Farewell message:

When I joined the TMC Forum in 2006, I was far to imagine the path I will follow: being involved in shaping ITS technology and legislation. It was a wonderful journey, full of ideas and projects. I better understand now what issues for traffic info, travel and mobility are. But so many things remain for me to learn.

What will remains to be the most interesting part in being in TISA is all the people I met. TISA members are respectful of each other. Discussions can be lively, sometimes rough but never rude or disrespectful. And out of the Blue Towers walls, people get friendly especially around a Belgian beer or a glass of wine! Working with people with high skills and strong knowledge was rewarding. Thanks to all of you.

In particular many thanks to:

Jonathan Burr and Nicolas Kireeff who let me take over the New Feature & Content Working Group; Bev Marks for helping me setting up the BAWG and its passionate chats on traffic info;

Thomas Kusche for his trust to let me chair the Content and Service Committee; Christine Lotz, Teun Hendricks, Theo Kamalski, Dave Francis, Vincent Blervaque, Olaf Meng, Matthias Unbehaun, Hermann Meyer and Paul Kompfner for their involvement in the steering board; the “French team” Jean-Philippe Méchin, Philippe Tocqueville and Éric Poulbot; Amaury Cornélis and Patricia Pelfrene from the Executive Office.

And special thanks to Stéphanie Chaufton who made the chairs of the BAWG and Content & Service Provision Committee so easy and pleasant. “Mes remerciements les plus chaleureux, Stéphanie”.

I will now follow your work from afar but I am quite sure our paths will cross again. No doubt. So let’s talk of travel and mobility in 2020.

Cheers,

Jacques NAVES
MICHELIN Travel Partner

The Steering Board thanks Jacques Naves for his great contribution to the work of TISA and for his excellent management skills in driving the Content & Service ProvisionCommittee.
