Seminar on Smart Traffic Information Services

During the seminar Dr. Ming-Whei Feng, Director of III Smart Network System Institute, provided an overview of ITS technologies in Taiwan, with a focus on wireless systems and spectrum regulation. Dr. Wang, Director General of the Ministry of Transport and Communication (MoTC), and Dr. Chien-Pang Liu, University College of London, presented the ambitious ITS plan for Taiwan, which was recently published by the MoTC. The Ministry will provide local funding to support the development and roll-out of the Mobility-as-a-Service concept in the country, starting with pilots in the Taipei-Yilan corridor.

Reporting from Europe, Matthias Unbehaun, TISA Executive Director, presented on behalf of the MaaS Alliance their current activities and the status of the different pilot projects in Europe. The presentation was complemented by an analysis of how TISA plans to position itself in the MaaS ecosystem and where TPEG can play a role in connecting MaaS public transport offerings with individual mobility.
