Thomas Kusche: “We reached the ambitious goal of the TISA founders to bring TPEG to fruition”

dear TISA partners,
dear friends of TISA,

Charles Dickens said:

“Christmas time! That man must be a misanthrope indeed, in whose breast something like a jovial feeling is not roused – in whose mind some pleasant associations are not awakened – by the recurrence of Christmas.”

Daily business makes it sometimes very difficult to simply sit back and enjoy “jovial feelings”. But I really hope that all of you will have an opportunity to joyfully remember the highlights of 2015.

Within TISA, we can be pleased at how much got done in different fields. TPEG services and devices become more and more successful in the market.  We reached the ambitious goal of the TISA founders in 2007 to bring TPEG to fruition. And we improved the performance of TPEG by developing market driven specifications.

But today, TISA is not about technology only. Our organization is frequently asked to contribute in strategical matters. Especially the European Commission knows that the Travellers Information Value Chain is displayed pretty well by TISA members – our internal discussions are seen as the anticipation of market behavior.

That kind of recognition became possible because of the extremely professional, respectful and friendly working culture we developed during the last eight years. If difficult problems must be solved, TISA is the place to reach solutions with one consent.

At the end of a demanding year, I want to thank all TISA members, our partners in the field of ITS and our friends in the market for their support, attention and positive attitude.

TISA feels obliged to continue any efforts in the improvement of Traveler Information – in good terms with all of you. At the end of the Value Chain, there’s always an individual – a driver, a passenger, a biker or a pedestrian. We want to contribute to their safety and comfort.

Have a great Christmas time and happy New Year!

Thomas Kusche
TISA President
