TISA signs MOU with Taiwan Telematics Industry Association in Taipei

The Taiwan Telematics Industry Association (TTIA)  and the Traveller Information Services Association (TISA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during a visit of a TISA delegation to Taipei, Taiwan, on August 24, 2016. Representatives from Taiwan-based TISA members and invited guests from Taiwanese ministries and research institutions witnessed the signature ceremony.

IMG_9650“The MoU is a cornerstone for the future collaboration between both organizations and their members” said Paul Chou, Secretary General of TTIA. Matthias Unbehaun, TISA Executive Director and signing on behalf of TISA, added “TISA has very concrete plans for launching local Working Groups, involving also TISA members from other parts of the Asia-Pacific. We are grateful for the support we receive from TTIA and the Taiwan TISA members. Taipei will be the starting point for many follow-up activities in the coming years”.

Areas of prime interest are urban mobility and TPEG applications that facilitate multimodal travel in that context, as well as Mobility-as-a-Service concepts and automated driving/autonomous vehicles.

2016-08-24 15.40.34On the day following the signature ceremony, the TISA delegation and TTIA were received by representatives of the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs (MoEA) and the Taiwan Ministry of Transportation and Communication (MoTC). Further meetings with TISA members located in Taiwan rounded off the program in Taipei.
