Certification of Location Tables for Czech Republic v5.0

June 17, 2013

On 23 February 2013, Location Tables of Czech Republic version 5.0 (CZE v5.0) were certified by the Brussels-based organization TISA (Traveller Information Services Association), and have consequently been released.

The new CZE v5.0 Tables are an updated version of the Location Tables v4.1, for which a general revision, accuracy improvement, and expansion of localized sections have been made. Version 5.0 includes nearly 19,000 locations.

The Location Tables were created by CEDA (Central European Data Agency) in accordance with ISO 14819. They cover highways, 1st and 2nd class roads, as well as interconnecting 3rd class roads  that can be used as an alternative route to highways and tertiary roads in selected cities. The CZE v5.0 Tables also offer increased location density and clarification for the whole territory of the Czech Republic, within the location network. The important street networks in regional capital cities are covered too.

The ongoing road works on the D1 highway (E50, E65) were also taken into account during the preparation of the Location Tables and this new version should improve end-user awareness and create optimal conditions for planning alternative routes. Used character set is win1250 or ASCII.

The CEDA, as in previous years, is responsible for the distribution of Location Tables as well as for the updating of the Czech translation of the Event List v2.0 (According to the ISO 14819-2).

The expected date to implement these Location Tables v5.0 in a data system providing real-time traffic information (NDIC) and start broadcasting the traffic information based on Location Tables v5.0 via RDS-TMC is 3rd quarter of 2013.
